Drums, Bass, Accompaniment, Melody and PA all in one unit. Shame I can’t quite work out how to use the “Sequencer”. that thing doesn’t seem possible to program.
Casiotone 101 – Electronic Musical Instrument.
I bought this Casiotone organ/keyboard via Ebay (circa late 2009 I think) for quite a bargain price and I must say I”m quite surprised at just how much I”ve been using it.
This is probably the most limited synth I’ve owned – with just 25 preset sounds + two switches: Vibrato (on/off); Sustain (on/off). However its bloody awesome; simple sounds but really useable and flexible.
Its made me quite keen to pick up some more – maybe a Casiotone 401, 601 or 202 say. they have a hold load of similar models.
Recently I’ve been lamenting the fact that Nick Cave has never released a Synth-Pop album or even like an EBM album.. so.. in an attempt to rectify this here is my quick and dirty cover version of The Mercy Seat (with synths and drum machine samples)
